Join us for a student/alumni tour of the New York Chinese Scholar's Garden at Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden.
The NYCSG is one of only two authentically built classical outdoor Chinese gardens in the United States based on Ming Dynasty gardens (1368-1644 AD).
In addition to our tour, guests will participate in an Arts & Meditation workshop during which they will experience the calming and expressive art of traditional Chinese ink painting. Rooted in mindfulness and harmony, Shui Mo Hua (water and ink painting) emphasizes fluid brushstrokes, natural beauty, and inner reflection. In this guided session, participants will learn fundamental brush techniques, explore symbolic elements such as bamboo, flowers, and mountains, and create their own serene compositions. Accompanied by gentle meditation and a tranquil atmosphere, this workshop offers a relaxing and culturally enriching experience that fosters creativity, focus, and a deeper connection to artistic tradition
*Please note, this is a walking tour, so comfortable shoes should be worn.
