The Alumni Speaker Series, brought to you by the Alumni Association Board Alumni Engagement Committee, is your chance to learn from fellow alumni, hear about their journeys and make new connections. Topics will range from current trends, career paths, professional and personal success, and more. This series will be held on Zoom webinar, with registration required.
Join us for our first Alumni Speaker Series with Jennifer Kaloper-Bersin '94. Jennifer Kaloper-Bersin, Workers' Compensation Judge, Santa Ana District Office, Santa Ana, California, is an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ), who earned her undergraduate degree from Wagner College in 1994. As a baccalaureate degree candidate, she studied both Political Science and English. Following Wagner College, her career took various turns until the spring of 2001, when she decided to pursue her law degree about as far away as possible from NY while staying within the mainland US. While working full time, she earned a juris doctorate in 2005 in the part-time evening program at Whittier Law School in Costa Mesa, CA. Her legal career evolved as she began as a secretary and law clerk for the in-house counsel department of a mortgage company, then moving into insurance defense within the practice specialty of Workers' Compensation where she eventually became an ALJ.
Jennifer will be leading a discussion on “Lessons Learned and Embracing Change.” She’ll discuss her personal and professional career journey, from Wagner to now. Our path is not always linear, and it can lead you to places you’d never imagine. At the start of a brand new year, Jennifer is here to have an open conversation on lessons learned, change, and why you should embrace all that comes your way.
